Look Guys: I understand Antares Saddles are very "hot" at the moment. This saddle (new) retails at 00+.
I have it with one of the larger tack shops in the US at 00. I asked them to drop it to 00, but they believe it's too low.
If you want a top of the line, pristine Antares M20 18L- it's a great deal.
But please don't insult me by offering 00 or even 00! You can't get a generic/non-custom, basic leather Antares such as this saddle new or used for under 00. And I'm offering it for 50. No returns, sold as-is.
If you'd like to try it with Judy's Tack- please do. But it's priced at 00 with them. Feel free for a trial through Judy's- but but it from Judy's. You can also trial any Antares M20 to check fit on your horse. I purchased this saddle for my hunter, Triple Threat, and it was custom made for him. I won many USET classes, Junior hunter classes, and 1.40 jumper classes in it. I fits almost anything.
Because it fits so many horses- Antares made it as a standard size. But none the less, it's a custom Antares with 1 year of wear, kept in a climate control environment- and it is immaculate.
Please do not insult me by lowballing the price. If you want a Maserati, don't insult the owner by offering a number fit for a used Kia.
2004 Antares Model 20 18" Long (Forward) Flap Jumping Saddle, Stamped as item No. 248 04. Smooth Cowhide panels, calfskin seat and knee pads, foam flocking, and minor blocks.
I purchased this saddle from Antares at the Washington International Horse Show in 2004 for my 17.2 hh Hanoverian Large Junior Hunter. I had explored custom Butet, Hermes, Prestige, and Devoucoux saddles and after multiple fittings, each saddle made my horse sore backed. Although I loved Devoucoux and Hermes for placing me in the "correct" riding position, neither worked for my horses.
Antares gives the rider the "correct" Hunterseat Equitation position, yet is secure enough to jump around a nice grand prix. It also has foam flocking, and therefore will not "break down" and have to be refitted.
I used this saddle on a 17.2 hh Hanoverian Hunter, a 19.2 hh Italian Warmblood Grand Prix Jumper, and a 16.2 Thoroughbred Equitation horse. It has a high pommel/wither clearance on a medium-wide tree, and fits both girthy horses as well as narrow sided horses.
I retired in '07, the saddle is gently used, and has been kept in a climate controlled room on a saddle rack. It is in wonderful condition. The tree was x-rayed in '07, it is intact.
On the Used Antares website, there are other M20s listed at the same price in worse condition. This saddle goes for over ,000 US new.
