1963 CIVIL DEFENSE DRINKING WATER 17.5 Gallon Steel Drum~Bomb Shelter Item

This listing is for a Vintage 1963 CIVIL DEFENSE Survival Supplies 17.5 Gallon Steel Drum. This was an item that designed to be stored in a bomb shelter during the height of the Cold War. It could be used to fill with drinking water by inserting a plastic bag liner and fill to the water fill line at the top of the drum. Then it could be used as a commode. This was manufactured by US Steel Corp. Sharon, PA. It stands approx. 22" tall and is 16" in diameter. It has a lid that fits tightly on the top. Overall, this is in very good shape for its age. It shows light rust in places, mainly around the top and bottom of the drum. This is a very cool piece of Cold War history that would make a great display piece.
