    Description

    These Mu-Metal magnetic shields are in good used condition and will work well for 3" inch
    diameter
    or smaller Photomultiplier Tubes. The Mu-Metal sheet they are made from measures 4.5 inches by 10 inches and are spot welded in one corner to form a 3" diameter shield. These shields are made from high quality heavy
    gauge
    Mu-metal,
    approximately
    0.55mm (.0215") thick and weigh about 4.5 ounces each.
    They are currently spot welded round as shown in the pictures, but may be
    flattened
    into a 4-1/2 X 10 inch sheet by using a sharp chisel to break the spot weld, or sheet metal shears to cut the welded corner off. They are shipped round and may still have some residue of silicone PMT coupling compound from previous use. Of course the Mu-Metal sheet can be used for many other types of electronic projects as well, whenever a
    magnetic
    or RF
    shield
    is desired. The sheet can be soldered to if necessary.
