This is not a full kit or a factory package or anything like that.
This a light box that came from something entirely different. I don't even know what it came out of or where it came from. Might have been a yard sale might have been something that I picked up at the Goodwill store. I looked at it as a possible light box for drawing and tracing. There is no cord or hook-up included. There is on the box a plug in for the lights but you would have to match parts to it yourself.
The edges are kind of sharp, I intended to make a wooden case to hold and protect it and the person using it. It's basic size is 14 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 1 1/2". These are just the outside measurements. If a person were to use this in its current configuration, they could add or fix lights to go in it. It could then be used but I think a person would want to finish it off to make a nice light box. (that was my intention and may still be if it doesn't sell.) It was my intention to mount bright white (clear) LEDS inside and to do away with the CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Light). You may wish to use the ccfl like it was designed for. I looked online and found places where you might find ready made ccfl bulbs or strings, and some places that make them to order. Personally I choose the cheaper way with leds. I don't have time to make this myself but if it doesn't sell I'll make it up myself sometime in the future.
Here is what you get. You get the metal lower frame and bottom. Inside that lies a white vinyl sheet the dim. of the inside. (about 1/32 to 1/64 th " thick. Then the white plastic upper frame settles down onto the base to make the whole thing about 1 1/2" ) deep. The top of that is a "in place" vinyl surface. Beneath that is the array of ccfl bulbs. Oops, I just accidentally broke another bulb. In doing so I realized that each set of bulbs consist of a loop of bulb connected on one side. It makes me think that they are readily replaceable. (you don't need them if you go leds). Finally there is a vinyl transparent sheet that covers the top flat surface precisely to the edges. This can be removed for cleaning.
Finally, I think this is a good project for someone that could use a ccfl light box but can't afford the costs. I would say this would be a nice project for someone with adequate skills in a shop and basic electric knowledge, with the use of the internet to help.

    I am the vintageelectronicpartsguy.
It's just a name to tell people what I am selling on EBAY. I am not an expert in electronics. You couldn't even call me a novice. I like to mess around with some things but I am not even a tech.
So I don't know what I am doing or talking about in my ads other than what I see
and I will tell you about it the very best way I can. I take the best photos I can to show you what I think I would want to know. I am a Christian and I am truthful. My feedback rating is very important to me as yours should be to you. I have a two car garage so full of misc. elec. stuff that I can hardly get through it all in my wheel chair. I need this stuff gone and I could use some cash too. I am open to offers as long as they meet this criteria. 1] The offer has to be made and accepted before the auction ends. 2] Offers below the starting price will be ignored. I start as low as I feel I can go so don't ask. You can always go back on line and find your giveaways somewhere else.  3] You are always welcome to make an offer
    higher
    than the
    buy it now
price. They say one is born every minute. 4] If I make a counter offer it means yes I will accept a lower price than what it is at but not as low as you ask, so just send me a higher offer and see what I will do. I do want to get rid of this stuff but I don't want to be taken advantage of.
I reserve the right to block anyone from my site, if they insist, sorry.
