DESCRIPTION:
Georgian magnified deceptive carnival glass barware wine glass! Second picture illustrates the magnification of the glass. This wine glass is made with a thick magnification to deceive patrons on the amount of wine the glass actually holds! Fantastic conversation starter and looks awesome! We date this c1780 and is around 240 years old. This wine glass has a very rare and unique cut into the glass where the bowl meets the stem!

A genuine Victorian penny lick glass is very shallow! Rule of thumb for measurement is under 30mm deep. The shallower on the inside the thicker the glass will be giving it greater magnification. Anything deeper then 30mm can fall into other categories like wine, barware or Georgian. True Victorian era and earlier carnival glassware will have a thick magnification and unique shape.
Penny lick and other type of Victorian era glassware is also called carnival glass.
