    Description

This is an old Port Wine bottle, in dark amber glass by Select American.  If I am correct, it was produced between 1934 and 1936.
Hard to read the label but from what i can tell it says: Produced and distilled by Meconi Wine Co., Detroit Michigan.
I found an online article that states the following about Meconi Wine Co:
"In 1934 Mariano moved his winery to Detroit and called it the Meconi Wine Company. Native American grapes, like Concord and Niagara, were trucked to the winery from the thriving vineyards in Southwest Michigan. The trip across the state could take up to 12 hours one way. 1936  - Tired of receiving fruit that was less than fresh due to the long journey, Mariano moved his winery to Paw Paw, MI in order to be in the heart of the southwest Michigan fruit belt; where the best grapes were grown. He renamed his winery the Italian Wine Co.
The bottle is empty and has a cap that is rather rusty.  The label is as shown. I do not see any cracks or chips in the dark amber glass.
Stands 14" tall.  It held 4/5 Quart (marked near bottom in raised lettering).
