I am selling this saddle for a retired horseman friend of mine who appreciated the quality of Berney Saddles from growing up in Ireland himself.  He used this particular saddle in the 1980's when he started and schooled young jumper horses for a prominent family near Calgary, Alberta Canada.
Berney has changed the names of their saddle models over the years.  This saddle is most similar to a current model that they call the Berney "Olympic Saddle".  It used to be sold as a cross-country saddle model.  It is a jumping or all-purpose saddle.
This is a close contact saddle. The mono flap allows the riders leg to be very close to the horse.  This also means that the saddle is very light weight.  The long molded knee roll cups the knee to support the rider.  The tree size is a generous medium, this saddle would probably be too wide for a high-withered TB horse.  My friend used this saddle on large warmbloods jumpers.
This saddle is in good used condition.  There are some cosmetic scuffs on the saddle seat and cantle, please see the photographs.  A small area of stitching needs to be replaced on both flaps, as shown in pictures.
