EXCEPTIONAL ANTIQUE 15K GOLD ROMAN MICROMOSAIC BELT BUCKLE c1860
An antique 14/15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) micromosaic belt buckle. Each of the four panels is finely hand crafted in a red glass surround, and depict various ancient Roman landmarks. With pinchbeck type gilt yellow metal fittings.
Wow - a wonderful quality example...immensely collectible & wearable too!
CONDITION
: Generally good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Some professional restoration to surrounds. Possibly adapted from a necklace or similar in antiquity.

: Around 1850. Not marked.
