    Description

    Issued to military personnel during the Cold war.
    Detectors D-500 condenser type, designed to measure the exposure dose of gamma radiation in the energy range from 300 keV to 1.25 MeV with a direct reading on the scale of the measuring panel.
    Detector D-500 - in the range of 2-500 R. The range of each type of dosimeter is divided into three sub-ranges. D-500 dosimeters are designed as emergency dosimeters.
    When exposed to gamma radiation, the capacitor is charged by the current of the ionization chamber, which is a radiation detector.
    Detectors D-500 have a cylindrical case, inside which there is an ionization chamber and two capacitors: charging and measuring, located at the ends of the detector. The charging capacitor serves to supply voltage to the ionization chamber and to maintain the saturation mode of the chamber. When the detector is irradiated, an ionization current arises in the chamber, and a measuring capacitor is charged.
