J. A. Barnsby & Sons English saddle.
Older/Vintage Barnsby & Sons brown English saddle. This is a unique saddle that seems to have a series of additional rings around the saddle, and the only saddles I have found that are close to similar from Barnsby have none of these additions. I have seen some military-type saddles that have extras like this, but cannot determine if perhaps this one was indeed ever a military saddle (Barnsby did equip different police forces, royal horse artilleries, etc.). Because I know nothing about this saddle's history and Barnsby is now out of business, I encourage the buyer to do additional research to learn more about the saddle's history, as I unfortunately cannot offer more details. There seems to be a stamp that reads "S 8026" on a piece of the leather. I could not find out if this was a serial number (again, Barnsby appears to be out of business). There is a missing 'pin' on one side, which I've pointed out in one photo.
I have included several photographs of the saddle's current condition. It is in really great condition considering its age. It will come with the irons pictured, which say made in England on the bottom. I am not an English rider and know very little about measuring saddles. I have included photos of some measurements but buyers need to determine for themselves if these measurements are correct and/or if they would work well for them or their horse. I will gladly send you new photos if you'd like me to measure certain things or measure things differently -- I am no English saddle expert!
