    Ladies and Gentlemen, i present you this old
    vintage British army jerry can from 1950's. Marked - 1953 WD, .  Material - metal. At the start of the second world war the British army two and four gallon of pressed tin containers, they were known as flimsies due to their habit of bursting open in use - indeed 25% of the fuel was lost due to the poor quality of the petrol tins. The Germans were using a much superior steel fuel cans which the British captured and put them into use for themselves. The British army couldn't fill its supply lines with captured jerry cans so they started a production of copies - last picture. The example dates since the WW2 and it has been used by the British army also in the post war period.
