READY TO INSTALL 5 inch Diameter BC412 Plastic Scintillator for Gamma Detector

Description

These FIVE Inch Round Bicron BC412 Premium Plastic Scintillators are finished and ready to install in a detector with your PMT (photomultiplier).
I take a 5 inch Round Cut Scintillator Block with Polished Faces and then polish the sides silky smooth using progressively finer grades of wet-sandpaper from 120 to 600 grit. Then the blocks are coated on all but one face with a special highly reflective Titanium Dioxide paint so that they achieve excellent collection of any available light, reflecting it towards the PMT. Ships ready to install, just remove the protective blue tape covering the clear face and couple to your PMT.
This material is a Premium Plastic Scintillator Material tested and guaranteed to work for radiation detection when coupled to a PMT and built into a probe. This is the same material and the same process I use when building my own detectors.
The cutting and polishing of this plastic can be very difficult and costly without the proper knowhow and equipment. Unless you’re going to build dozens of probes, buying a round precut (and now fully finished) piece from me is much cheaper (and easier) than trying to cut, shape, polish, and coat or wrap it yourself.
