This sturdy probe-case can protect
pancake probes of these popular
brands:  BICRON / EBERLINE /
JOHNSON / TECHNICAL
ASSOCIATES / LUDLUM.
The cannister is made of ABS plastic,
the same material from which sturdy
LEGO building blocks are made. Internal
cushioning material is included at both
interior ends of the cannister.
STANDARD PANCAKE PROBES, such as Ludlum
44-9, Bicron PGM, Eberline HP-260, or Johnson
HP-265, are popular among geiger enthusiasts, due
to their high sensitivity and excellent signal-to-
noise ratio.  But they are fragile in use, because
their thin-mica membrane is easily burst by
punctures (cactus, thorns, burrs, insect stings,
rough handling, etc.)  They are also fragile at
high altitudes above 8,000 ft., because of the
damaging effects of thin air at high altitude.
The LND # 7311 sensor is expensive to replace:
0.00 ordered factory-direct. I have lost
FIVE of these # 7311 sensors in the past four
years: two while uranium prospecting at Poison
Canyon NM (6500 ft elevation during 100 degree
dry summer heat), two sensors were lost because
USPS shipped by air rather than ground, and one
was lost while fitting a new sensor into a pancake.
With its neoprene-rubber gasket, this canister
casing can resist the air pressure changes that
are damaging to pancake probes or end-window
probes. The canister length is 14", and the
matching red cap can contain a 3ft geiger
cable. The rubber gasket will be coated with
petroleum jelly to strengthen the airtight
fit. The canister must be opened SLOWLY
during five seconds, so that air pressure
inside and outside can be equalized safely.
The black rubber gasket is a vital feature
to protect your pancake probe against
sudden air-
pressure changes while
being transported
at high elevation!
If astronauts carried pancake probes on
space flights, the probes would definitely
be housed in these protective canisters.

for refund anytime during the first sixty
days for refund (Shipping costs are NOT

by my limited warranty.
