    Description

The Gunther Brewing Company was home to George Gunther Jr. Brewing Company founded in 1900.  By 1959, it was the second largest brewery in Baltimore.  At that time, Baltimore was a major brewing center in America and Gunther produced 800,000 barrels a year and employed 600 people.  In 1960, Hamm's Brewing Co. bought Gunther's.  Today the area in Baltimore is known as "Brewers Hill".  The brewery building  has been revitalized as a modern, mixed-use building called "The Gunther".
The bottle is embossed with the company's logo.  I have used colored water to highlight the embossing.  If you collect old beer bottles OR from the Baltimore area (home of the Orioles and Gunther's was an early supporter when the team came to Baltimore in 1954) you may want this for your own.
