Vintage German Amber Glass Beer Siphon Growler

Muster Geschutzt 2 liter amber glass beer growler
These were used to transport beer from the brewery.  This one is in excellent condition with no chips or flaws with a heavy duty aluminum handle that measures 7 inches high.  The bottle is 13 in high and is heavy almost 4 lbs.  The bottom of the bottle shows Muster Geschutzt.  A rare find indeed, this one retains the original rubber seal which is cracked over time see photos. In the 1800's when these came out to replace the metal pails for transporting beer this was called the German Siphon and the precursor of the modern growler.
